Two of the forefathers of Rotary had only a short Rotary Life. Gus left the club very next year due to problems in his business. Hiram Shorey was elected as recording secretary of the club at third meeting, but he dropped out of the club and never really served as recording secretary.

If two of the four founder members of an organisation leave within an year, one can imagine how discouraging it would have been. But inspite of this early shock, the organisation grew to all parts of the world and has completed more than 105 years.
