A unique service project by our club members to help poor children born with speech & hearing impairment. Children were operated for cochlear implant, which will give them speech and hearing ability.
Each operation costs around Rs. 12 Lakhs. Rotarians approached Doctors, Clinics, Hospital and received concessions on tests, consultation etc which reduced the cost. Prime Minister Relief fund was approached and funds received, brought the operation cost down, further. The Balance funds were organised by Rotarians with help of Philanthropic friends.
The Operation was carried out at Fortis Hospital by Top Indian Doctors. Post operative recovery of these children, under supervision of their family, is happening at a rented A/c Apartment to save them from infection. Therapy session is going on Daily basis. It will take about six months for these children to be able to hear & speak comfortably.
